Cardiac CT is an excellent screening tool for suspected coronary artery disease. It has a high negative predictive value of >99%. This means when the study is reported to be normal one can be rest assured that he /she does not have coronary artery disease. It is ideally suited for patients in the low to intermediate risk group, who are not candidates for invasive conventional angiogram.
